Build Your Own Corner of the Web
Does it make sense to pay $1,000+ for a testimonial page, or any locked-in tool, when you can build something better, cheaper, and truly yours?
Rob Lennon’s AI-built testimonial page (no $1,000+ pricetag) inspired me to rethink my own site. Why rent Squarespace when I can own something simpler and cheaper?
For free, I’ve got a site that’s mine. Code, content, and all.
You can check out my experimental site here.
It's clean, simple, and uses my favourite font!
The best part is it's frictionless.
Before, I'd copy-paste my blog across platforms.
But now I can go from idea → live in one click.
I'm using something called the Digital Garden plugin in Obsidian to make this happen.
Imagine a site that's not tied to a platform. You're ideas are free to roam across the internet and always be available, no matter if Squarespace or Wix go down tomorrow.
Here’s how you can do it:
Download Obsidian (if you're not already using it)
Setup the Digital Garden Plugin to go live
Start publishing your ideas
This isn't about feeding the big tech algorithm, it's about building a corner of the internet that’s truly yours.
Owning your tech means you can share your ideas on your terms.
P.S. What do you want to see more of in this newsletter? ClickUp, workflows, automation, vibe coding... Send me a message on ‘𝕏 of LinkedIn and let me know.
